dear Forum members,

In 1970/1971 Blue Thumb released one killer album on LP ‘A BAD DONATO’
by Bossa Nova pioneer João Donato.

Donato who replaced Osmar Milito as pianist in Sergio Mendes second band aside from Brasil 66 made this album mainly on organ (and what a killer organ sound) with amongst others, Oscar Castro Neves on guitar, Paulinho DaCosta on percussion the famous Jazz legends Pete and Conte Condoli on trumpets with Frank Rosalino, trombone under the prodction helm of Jazz Vibe/Percussion studio great Emil Richards.

Especially the Donato composition ‘THE FROG’ (from LOOK AROUND fame) is marvelous, drivin’ fiery and groovy. I’m proud to have obtained this LP album in the seventies. I play it a lot.

All the best,
Aqua do Brasil
