February/March AH Mag. has a detailed article about The Wrecking Crew with Hal Blaine. Listed in the Wrecking Crew Top 10...(and high time they got some credit for these classics) lists the Close To You album at number ten. Showing a photo of that album, it's caption reads..."With the Burt Bacharach/Hal David title cut and impeccable production values, this sophomore release turned the wholesome, sweet-singing Carpenters into bona fide music celebrities. The gifted Karen didn't play drums on the album (as she often did in concert). It was all Hal Blaine behind the drum kit.--K.H."
The other nine albums, if anyone is interested, are:
9. Johnny Rivers Whiskey a Go-Go
8. The 5th Dimension Age of Aquarius
7. The Association-Insight Out
6. Herb Alpert-Whipped Cream and...
5. Nancy Sinatra-Boots (yeah, #5)
4. The Monkees-eponymous
3. Mamas and Papas- If You Can Believe...
2. Simon and Garfunkel- Bridge Over...
1. Beach Boys-Pet Sounds
