Fresh Air, I can understand how there might be a promo floating around, as it has seen recent cd release. But not the first album, at least not to my knowledge. Maybe this means a release is on the horizon?

They ARE cd-rs, so they could be fakes.....but why, especially with all the Universal info on it?

Any info on this is very welcome!!

These look like demo CD-R's for the Universal Music Publishing Group. These discs allow prospective music users in movie production, commercial production, etc., to get a chance to sample music before using them in their productions.

Much like the Rondor releases of old.

It is my understanding that the first album was released on cd in Japan a while ago, so it might of been leftover from that. Or maybe they are planning to release it again. If so I'm happy that they are, but would rather it be a different album.

So it is possible that they are just needledrops to gauge interest in the company, something like that?

I agree with Harry - these are Uni's music publishing attempts to get their former Irving/Almo/Rondor tunes licensed for TV, commercials & films, etc.

I don't believe that these are needle drops, as they already have the digital masters from both CD releases in Japan. BAJA MARIMBA BAND was released in Japan by Pony Canyon in 1987 as part of a 100 CD issue for A&M's 25th anniversary. FRESH AIR was released there a few years back.
