I found this bmb video on you tube. the portugese washerwoman does any know who the other trumpet player is? is that dave wells with out the hat?

I've always assumed that was Katzman on trumpet (but looking different because he's not wearing a hat) and Lew McReady on trombone... The band we finally came to recognize as the BMB didn't really solidify until the Heads Up album (and even then we lost Bud Coleman before Charlie Chiarenza took his spot on Fowl Play). As a kid (before I learned that most of the early TJ and BMB albumns used studio musicians) I used go nuts trying to figure out who was who on those earlier album covers -- even the front and back pictures have different people in them. And just who was that taking a "bathroom break" on most of the covers?

In that video clip I love that tall bass marimba in the background and Curry's hilarious "piano sync" near the end. The recording is probably Leon Russell or Pete Jolly, though...
