The recent reports on Bob are encouraging.
I had the pleasure of meeting him twice in October 1985,our intial encounter was at the home
of John Pisano where we enjoyed an interesting afternoon viewing the TJB momentos that were
preserved by John into a bound volume. John produced a full teapot for his English visitor and later beer.
Our second meeeting was at the Hyatt on Sunset a week or so later where we be both enjoyed
3-4 hours of recollections his career as a musician.
Bob did explain that his first encounter with John Pisano occured in circa 1961
Both players were working on the film THE GEORGE RAFT story.
There are a few clips of this film on You tube,but i am unsure if theirs was a visible role
or soundtrack work under composer Jeff Alexander.
If anyone out there has the film they may care to view as some musicians are visible and report
back the forum.
One interesting fact is this film is not mentioned within the essental reference book JAZZ IN THE MOVIES
in either printings considering that both players are involved somehow that is a real omission.
