Bullish Tour Painter, Denny Dent, Dies at 55

According to today's New York Times, Denny Dent died on Monday in Aurora, CO. Those of you who saw Herb Alpert's "Bullish" tour, watched as Herb's portrait was painted in frantic style while Herb played. Besides Herb, his subjects included presidents, rock stars and a pope.

I remember his appearence at that '84 Bullish show very well. Boy- 20 years - yet it seems very recent in my mind.

My favorite moment was when Herb played "Make A Wish" form the Bullish LP. He said, "this one's from the new album. It's called 'Make A Wish.'" As soon as he said "Make A Wish" a shooting star/meteor streamed across the sky over the stage (from my vantage point it was over the stage). If it wasn't a natural occurence you certainly could not have expected better timing/efffect form a pyro technic unit!
