Was also used for audience participation playback for "Sing" and I think Richard felt it added a high tech visual effect for their stage set up at the time. Ken and Mitzie Welch may have had some input when they were hired to revamp the Carpenters concert performances.

Thanks Jim. Looking back at the quality of their stage show compared to the more hi-tech standards employed by the likes of ABBA and Queen at the time, their production standards were lame by comparison. I'm not sure Ken and Mitzie Welch did them any favours.

Agree, and stringing some of your lessor songs together in a medley is fine but not the biggest hits that the audience is expecting to hear in their entirety.
