Hey, I bought this Argentinian disc called LOVE ME FOREVER which is HORIZON shuffled around a bit. Anyway the liner notes mention the 4 trax recorded at RCA in '68 as THE RICHARD CARPENTER TRIO. Have any of these seen the light of day? Is it the IMPANEMA thing or what exactly?
Just read your FROM THE TOP liner notes, and you'll get the story. There were 11 songs recorded for RCA, and only "Iced Tea" (included on FROM THE TOP and THE ESSENTIAL COLLECTION: 1965-1997) has been released in any official way. Oh, and it was 1966, not 1968.
The Carpenters were almost an RCA act, under the auspices of RCA Record Exec, Neely Plumb... Too bad--(or with the treatment they got by Herb Alpert at A&M, is it too good?)--they never got signed...
