"Dock Of The Bay" Expo Vocal

Hey! Since I'm hearing things on Herb Alpert records (see the Alpert Forum under "Fox Hunt"), I thought I'd ask a question about Expo as well.

Following Lani's solo, it sounds as if Karen pops in on the last few words...or...is this an echo of Lani's voice? Case in point:

"...so I guess I'll remain the same..."

Interesting, seeing as Karen is clearly heard in the right channel throughout the album. Yet, this sounds as if it comes from both channels.

Anyone know?

It sounds to me like during that bridge, Lani's singing solo in the left channel (as usual). Without Karen singing in the right, the right channel mic is picking up the ambient echo of Lani's voice in the hall. Then as it get's toward the end ("...so I guess I'll remain the same..."), I hear Karen joining in as she's getting closer to the mic. She was probably dancing or moving about the stage away from the mic during Lani's solo.
