Great Grusin Anecdote

I posted this yesterday on FB, I thought some of you might enjoy it:

Today I read a really touching reminiscence of Percy Faith by the great lyricist Gene Lees. There was a hilarious anecdote about Dave Grusin in it--evidently Percy's late son Peter was Dave's music agent at some point, and Dave had been hired to write the score for a movie circa 1975, which resulted in the producer literally hovering over his shoulder as he composed and requiring that he play every cue on the piano (this producer had already jettisoned a previous score by another composer). So when the recording date arrived, Grusin called the producer up to the conductor's podium, had the orchestra play 4 bars, and then turned to the producer and said "OK so far?" Grusin continued to do that in 4 bar increments until the producer stormed out of the session. The producer later jettisoned Grusin's score as well. I'd love to know what the film was.

I don't know how this hilarious story got by me, but even years later it was quite amusing to say the least!
