I wanted to do a choral arrangement of the great Danilo Caymmi tune "Andanca" (done by Bossa Rio as "Open Your Arms"), and, in listening to Bossa Rio's version again after a long time, realized they only sing part of it in English. Since my choir is not so fluent in Portuguese 
, I was poking around looking for the whole English lyric (by Jay Livingston and my late friend Ray Evans). A guy on the Brasilian music usenet group reminded me that it's also on Wanderley's "When It was Done", but here's the interesting part--Wanderley's version has the second 8 of each verse (in English), but not the first 8! So the Bossa Rio version has the first 8 in English, then the second 8 in Portuguese, while Walter's omits the first 8 entirely. Also, on the chorus, in Walter's version the women sing "Take me, my love" instead of Pery's "So take my love." These fascinating bits of trivia brought to you by JMK.
