Why is it that to get really rare catalog items we usually look to Japanese releases. I will always opt for a Japanese CD over domestic if given the choice because of its superior quality. Why does Japan seem to "get it" when it comes to lesser known selections?
The Japanese are masterful at copying American inventions and selling them back to us in a more useful form (ex. automobiles). One day I walked into my favorite used record store, and almost everything in the $1 vinyl rack was gone! The store owner said a Japanese man had purchased several boxes full of obscure records. Maybe he was gathering material for one of their reissue labels.
