PEOPLE featured Karen in the obituary section of their "Remembering The 80's" book, and,as usual, they included a pathetic photo of a 90-pound anorexic Karen.(some things never change).Has anyone ever noticed that PEOPLE never uses a gorgeous pic of Karen?(like the very voluptuous Karen in a bikini from 1973-74).

Yes, I've noticed. And not just People magazine. I remember the LA Times ran a horrid b/w pic of a gaunt looking Karen when Lovelines was released. Sesationalism sells and for the most part whenever the Carpenters are mentioned in the press it's rarely just about their music.

...the press did it in their lifetime and even after Karen's death. No wonder she had issues with her looks. Cher had an awesome comment about this subject but I don't remember it exactly. I do think one of her chosen words began with the letter 'F' when referring to the press.
