Manilow does Close to you

Next week, Barry Manilow's "Greatest songs of the 70's" CD is released. He already sold 40,000 copies with one appearance on QVC last weekend.

He has covered the Carpenters "Close to you". Here is a :30 clip from the BN.com web site. What do you think?

I'm not one for cover albums, but this one sounds pretty good (save a few songs I can't stand).

It looks as though he's even covering his own songs! The new Copacabana sounds pretty sweet...
