I was just in my home office when I heard the announcer on tonight's news which was playing in my bedroom saying something about "Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass." Ran in to watch a great 5 minute or so feature, with a long interview, with Dolores Erickson, who now lives about 30 miles north of here in Longview, Washington (I mentioned this a few months ago when the Oregonian did a feature on her). She gave quite a bit of info about the Whipped Cream shoot, and they showed a lot of alternate takes, as well as some of the 17 other album covers she's appeared on. The funniest thing is the announcer, showing a clip of Herb "lip-synching" (literally) to Spanish Flea, said, "Recognize this? It's a song called Whipped Cream and it was the theme to the Dating Game." So much for fact checking!
They did a nice promo for the CD at the end, showing the poster insert.
