I understand that this is a forum that is supposed to be dedicated to the Carpenters and most everything to do with the Carpenters. But, as a Carpenters fan, I also grew up in a generation where there were so many great artists. I consider myself as a child of the 70's. Even tho I was born in the early 60's, most of my favorite recording artists had their beginnings in the late 60's or early 70's. Even tho there have been so many lost over the years, I can't help but think about 2 recent losses (David Bowie & Glenn Frey). I thought this might be a respectful way to acknowledge and pay tribute to these fabulous artists who were a part of the same generation
that gave us Karen Carpenter.

Maurice White just passed away, too. May peace surround all of these musical souls.

On a side note: no offense to Don Henley/Glenn Frey (of course not, the Eagles are one of my other favorite bands, aside from the Beach Boys and our duo), but once I heard this version of "Desperado", there was no going back. :D
