Hi everyone, this is my first post. I know there has been some discussion on the SACD multi-track format. My question is, is there no plan to utilise this format in any of the upcoming releases? I realise that the very early stereo releases probably used no more than four channels during mixing, but then having a discrete channel for the phantom center information would really make a big difference and I am sure would open up the sound. It doesn't matter to me if there is no surround information for the very early releases. What is important to me is to have the experience of hearing TJB in three discrete channels across the front.
Has Herb expressed his feelings on the subject? Do multi-channel masters still survive, or are two-channel mix masters that now only exist?
