Back in an old thread I'd posted a list of Sergio Mendes' chart hits in ascending order by their status on Billboard's Hot 100 and Bubbling Under charts. I said at the time that it looked like it could make a decent compilation, and I just now finished compiling it to CD-R.
It turned out even better than I thought, since a lot of these never appear on compilations, particularly the bigger-hit Joe Pizzulo tunes. I particularly like the way the last two songs seem to fit together, with the "Look Of Love" refrain of "...don't ever go (don't ever go)..." leading into "Never Gonna Let You Go." How appropriate!
Using all of the latest and greatest remasters where possible as the source material, it sounds pretty decent too.
