Dear Forum Members,

Freddie Ravel who performed and toured with Sergio and Company has till up now released three albums as a leader.
IMHO his debut album MIDNIGHT PASSION from 1990 is the most interesting and fine album, with a influences from Sergio, a bit Earl Klugh, some Grusin and some salsa.

The 10 track album is mostly instrumental with 4 tracks with lead vocals by Ajani and background vocals on two tracks by the lovely Marietta Waters and on two other tracks with Alan Diaz on drums (former Brasil 88 member).
Are Alan and Marietta still together? In 1980 they were a couple.

Ravel was born and raised in L.A. from Colombian and Eastern European roots.
He performed and toured, but never recorded with Sergio. He performed, toured and recorded with Earth, Wind and Fire, Al Jareau and worked also with Tony Bennet, Quincy Jones, Madonna, guitar duo Strunz and Farah (Jorge Strunz from Caldera fame) and many others.
Cited by The Hollywood Reporter as one of L.A.’s the truly great top session keyboard players.

In 1996 he released his second album Sol to Soul and in 2001, Freddie Ravel. In addition to his Latin Jazz music Ravel composes symphonic works.
He once appeared as guest composer and pianist with the seventy piece California Philharmonic Orchestra.
Ravel, a great musician/composer/producer with high spirit, blessed with a famous name for a musician think about the Great French Classical Composer MAURICE RAVEL.

All the best,
Aqua do Brasil
