Sexiest Song Ever?

well i like the sexuality in my songs to be more subtle i guess.

when lani sings "your smile is soft and drowsy as you let it play across your face..."
or "..upon your cheek it lingers never having known a sweeter place..."
i just melt. i just think it's the sexiest song ever written.

songs like je t'aime" & "love to love you baby" makes me cringe.
they are embarrasing. it's like hard core porno verses a degas painting of a nude

I tend to agree with Walt. I prefer the more subtle imagery of "Like A Lover".

I thought the song "Rotation" (from "Rise") makes you want to have sex. :o  I think Anita Baker CD "Rapture" (Elektra) (1986) makes you want to have sex (as Darius Rucker of Hootie And The Blowfish said in "Rolling Stone" magazine back then) . The song "Just Been Born" by Bermuda singer/songwriter Heather Nova (from "South") (V2) (2002) makes you want to have sex. Matt Clark Sanford, MI

...Make(s) you want to have sex...

Jeezzz...Sex, eh??!! :scared:

Yeah, I loved Anita Baker's Rapture when it came out; now THAT was a SONG!

But, too bad her career was a success, and I mean "too bad" because I don't think anything that came out afterwards, was nearly HALF-as-good...! :baah: :shake:

Never heard of Heather Nova or her song Just Born, let alone its "sexiness", so I guess I'll have to take your word for it, then... :oneeye:

--And Ditto for Rotation...! :agree:

...Herb Alpert's TJB: "Girl Talk"...

I think Girl Talk done by Bossa Rio, Chris Montez and whatever other artists have done it (Who was it originally done by? --And who wrote it?) wanted it to be something to "score" to...! :twitchy:

...If a guy can't score playing this song... He didn't want to score...!

--Fer Sher...!

Girl Talk was written by Neal Hefti(who also penned the "Batman" TV theme) and Bobby Troup.

It was from the 1965 movie "Harlow" and Tony Bennett recorded one of the first versions of it. The song was nominated for two Grammy awards.

I prefer Herb's.

Heather Nova song "Walk This World" (from 1995 "Oyster") (WORK/Big Cat) was a hit as well as "London Rain" (Nothing Heals Me Like You Do) (from 1998 "Siren") (WORK/Big Cat). Her latest CD is called "Redbird" (2005) (available as an import which is more than $ 30). Also the CD "Storm" (2003) is also available as an import (more than $ 30). Heather hasn't played in the U.S. since "Lilith Fair" back in the Summer of 1998 or 1999. Matt Clark Sanford, MI

well, this is probably not in the "sexiest song ever" list, but I have always felt that "Love Without Words", on Mr. Alpert's Bullish album, was/is incredibly sexy. Same for "Stranger on the Shore" (KYEOM)...

I second the motion on anything by Barry White, and notably, "You're the First, Last, Everything" and "Can't Get Enuough of Your Love"...

How about " Love Song", a Taupin lyric that Ms. Hall covered rather beautifully?

How 'bout Love Song ...Do you know what I mean, have your eyes really seen... by Leslie Duncan the person who actually wrote it...?! By, besides Lani Hall, Punch (on A&M Album SP 4307 and also as a '45', B/W Rhymes; Non-LP) as well as Vikki Carr (she did it as the beginning [after Prelude to The Afternoon of a Faun] and ending song on her Double-Live LP, ...At The Greek), The Lettermen (their version is my favorite) and I recently found out Peggy Lee covered it, as well...?!

And the version of it I did (trying to sound like the Lettermen, but I think I came off as Punch) at a Christmas Party at Work, before doing our Christmas Carol Competition...! :santa:

I have to agree that "Like a Lover" has to win it. I posed this question to my sister and before I could say more she said, "Like a Lover".

Another good contender could be, "What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?"

later.......j

How about THE FIRST TIME EVER I SAW YOUR FACE...it gets pretty erotic as it goes through the verses. My favorite version is by Johnny Cash from THE MAN COMES AROUND.

Dan

Yazmin, what exactly do you mean by "geisha from Albany Park?"

Well... geishas are a little bit exotic to me, and Lani Hall as well. And, since Lani was born in Albany Park, she could be "a geisha from Albany Park", as my friend Wendy Pollock said.

Peter Frampton: I'm In You... Blow a kiss to the girl in the car next to you at the intersection, while stopped at the traffic light while this plays (and as you turn the Volume up) just before the light changes..!

Dave

...My favorite "Sexy Song"-moment there; April, 2003!

ha, ha! "i'm in you"? she should call the police. the music police!

Well, hey, I drowned out her Snoopy Dogg or Nully, or whatever..., that she was listening to...!

Have we yet mentioned (Do You Think I'm A) Nasty Girl by Vanity 6? (--Six? But there's only THREE...! Well, it's like this...) That obscure number, Make Love To Me was really the (Do You Think I'm A) Nasty Girl-of its time... --If only you could hear it!

What about The Bee-Gees? There's the stuff from their Maincourse album, onward... (And the WHOLE Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack should even get a mention!)

Tamiko Jones with Herbie Mann on A Mann And A Woman, which I bought to hear her do A Man & A Woman, Little Boat (O Barquinho) and Daytripper, before she did her own A&M/CTi album I'll Be Anything For You, and making a few obscure LP's for the December label and in the '70's, a couple of '45's on Atlantic...

Now Daytripper--by the Beatles or Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66--THAT'S ONE!!!
