Taiwan - Volume 2

Some issues:

1) The upper one is Volume 4

The lower one is Volume 5

2) Some of the Taiwan record listings on discogs state "unofficial release"

3) Since, of course, these recordings are from the early 60's - what was our relationship trade-wise to Taiwan, are they official, are some?

You missed Volume 11.

These records from Taiwan started appearing in thrift shops around town here, in the early 80’s. They have very cheaply made paper covered in thin plastic covers, with both English and Chinese writing on them. They are usually extremely beat up, and not worth even a dollar. I did find a Carpenters title or two, but the sound quality is bad. One of the covers is a 12” blow up of the picture for the Sing single. Maybe played 1 time.

I was gifted a red vinyl version of South of the border which supposedly was a Japanese pressing back in the 80s and the sound quality was awful to my ears but thankfully I lost that one a few years later because the original version was the Very best version I wouldn't be surprised if it was a Chinese version
