Can someone answer for me which came first:

Waters of March on Vintage '74

or

Águas de Março on Elis e Tom...

Same year, and Tom Jobim are on both of them...

Thanks...

I'm pretty sure Elis & Tom's was first.

Dear Forum Members,

The very first version of Waters of March was on the MCA 1972 released album ‘Jobim’ in a Portuguese and English version.

Jobim sung and played acoustic guitar on both the English and Portuguese track.
Joao Palma (drummer in the first Brasil’66 group) played drums, Richard Davies and/or Ron Carter played bass. Airto and George Devens on percussion.
Jerry Dodgion, Romeo Penque, Ray Beckenstein, Don Hammond and Phil Bodner on flutes and Urbie Green on trombone.
Harry Lookofsky: concertmaster.

Album produced, arranged and conducted by Claus Ogerman.
The recording engineer was the late legendary Frank Laico at Columbia Recording studios in New York.
Artwork by Jobim’ son Paulo Hermanny Jobim.

All the best,
Aqua do Brasil•Sjef Nix

Yes, Sjef, but he asked which between the two he mentioned came first, which is what I was answering. The "Jobim" album (released under different titles in different countries) is one of my faves, BTW.

I believe it was the egg. You need that first before you can get a chicken, but then again you need a chicken to hatch an egg. Oh well, at least I tried Trevor
