"A Song For You" is their masterpiece.

"Carpenters", their self-titled third album is a close second.

"Horizon" is third

"Close To You" is fourth.
 
Once again against the grain but, "Christmas Portrait" even with RC's issues at the time, it's my fave of all time. Hands down, the best produced, arranged and read. Go KC! :bigsanta:
 
I'm sure the album which Karen and Richard "intended" to be a "Masterpiece" might'a been Passage, seeing as how it came off of the quietude of Horizon and A Kind Of Hush and got a bit more outgoing and over-the-top, in keeping the spirit of the first albums and moving it another notch forward...
