why no herb videos

about a year ago,i ordered a couple of videos of herb from kinevideo.the quality of the videos were very good(one was the singer special)but i was wondering:why didn't(or why doesn't )herb or a&m put out the videos themselves?i've seen videos by sting,amy grant,sheryl crow,carpenters,etc,but none on the head honcho himself!it would be great to have thse also on dvd,with enriched mastering,sound quality,etc.so why hasn't herb released these great videos?

There's only been one official commercially released Herb Alpert video, and it wasn't released in the States! Called The Very Best Of Herb Alpert with artwork identical to the international album of that name, it was edited together be Lani Hall from those early specials and the '80s music videos. It was released in the UK on VHS, and in Japan on both VHS and LaserDisc. Finding the LaserDisc on eBay is one of my greatest thrills on that auction site.

why hasn't herb released these great videos?

Probably the same reason he hasn't released all of his albums on CD - he's not that interested in revisiting his past. There is a video called The Very Best Of Herb Alpert that was released in the UK and Japan a few years ago. It's long out of print, but every once in a while it pops up on places like eBay. It features a lot of clips from the TJB days as well as some of his solo stuff (up through Keep Your Eye On Me).
