I have just managed to 'get my ears around' the Lost Treasures CD. Never mind all the comparisons and second guessing of when the individual tracks were laid down and who the band personnel might be on each particular tune. The overall effect is stunning so many 'new' tunes from the TJB and all are fresh to the ear (OK except maybe up Cherry Street) the interpretations and presentation in no way seem dated and whilst you can make obvious comparisons with certain styles from the various original TJB albums, what a rare treat to any listener this collection is. I only hope that somewhere in the private vaults of the A & M master engineers like Larry Levine and Bernie Grundman, or from Herb Alpert himself we can eventually have a follow up CD of even more lost delights.
