This is a must-have from the mandolin magician who collaborated with Jerry Garcia, among others, in 'Old and in the Way.'
I've been fortunate to hear Grisman in concert twice, once at an OAITW reunion and later at a live radio station broadcast.

Since I've never been a fan of country or bluegrass music I avoided this album for a while. A local jazz station had started putting "Minor Swing" on the playlist and I started to become interested in this album, although I still had thought that Horizon had gone to the dogs for going this direction. Was I ever wrong about that! This is a killer album! I've heard some jazz albums that didn't swing as much as this album does. David Grisman is an incredible musician and is surrounded by other top-notch musicians. Tony Rice is a monster on guitar, especially on "16...16". Darol Anger plays a mean fiddle on several selections. Then, of course, there is guest violinist Stephane Grappelli on "Minor Swing" and "16...16". The beginning of "Dawg's Bull" has been used in a TV commercial (although I can't remember which one). This is about as perfect as an album can be. Don't walk, but run and get this album! 5 glorious stars!!!

Simply an outstanding album, with the highlights being "Minor Swing" and "16...16", both featuring Stephane Grappelli's sizzling fiddle playing.
