This is well worth seeking out if you've not heard it. A unique combination of bluegrass and jazz. A few years ago I heard Grisman perform live at a reunion of the early '70s act Old & In the Way, with Peter Rowan of Sea Train and Vassar Clements. The late Jerry Garcia was once part of that band.

A quietly decent selling album and I suspect that this album has never been out of print. Nice to see something seemingly so eclectic on paper(bluegrass, jazz, blues, swing) would have found a fairly wide-ranging audience-thanks,no doubt, to Deadheads and the Garcia connection. In a way, this album, along with Old & In the Way and Grisman's Warner releases, served as a bedrock for Grisman's acclaim Acoustic Disc label. Acoustic disc serves as a fine house for Dawg Music. Neidlinger is the secret to the fun.Mac

I remember not liking this album at first, since I despised anything with a C&W and/or bluegrass sound. But I eventually learned to really like this album. This is worth getting just to hear "Minor Swing", which features the swinging violin of Stephane Grappelli! But there's a lot of goodies here, including "Dawgology" and the very hip "Neon Tetra". A solid 4-star album!

And yes, this is still available on CD!
