Hi all...
There were 2 Carpenters mentions related to American Idol yesterday. First on Live! With Regis & Kelly, Kelly visited the set of American Idol and rehearsed her version of "Close To You". Then she sang the song once again to an unseen Simon Cowell hiding in the bathroom. She said she wanted him to hear her version of The Carpenters "Close To You".
Then on American Idol one of the contestants sang "Superstar" and during her critique Paula said she was glad he sang The Carpenters version.
It is 70s night on the show, so maybe tonight one of the girls might do another Carpenters song.
