Today I picked up this CTY lp that is labeled with a Full Dynamic Range Recording dbx disc use only with dbx disc decoder sticker. Inside is also written dbx encoded disc on the album. This was a new one to me. I briefly looked online while at the store and discovered that this noise reduction system was used on specific recordings. Used heavier vinyl and not many made. They began in '73 and going until '80 something and were sold for tip top prices. At present that's all I had time for. Curious thing is I don't believe I've heard mention of CTY and dbx at the forum. This caution "Use only with dbx disc decoder" puzzles me. I'm certain many of my audiophile friends here can enlighten me. Care to give it a go?
