Though The Corrs latest album HOME has been out since last year in the all of the world EXCEPT the United States, where you might have found it as an import, it gets an official release today, 2/7/06, on Rhino/WEA. For any that weren't aware of it, this is the album where the group returns to their Irish roots, doing many traditional Irish songs, two in Gaelic, and one pop song that they've been doing in concert for years, "Old Town", written by former Thin Lizzy frontman, Phil Lynott. The group got re-assigned to Warner Music UK in the recent shakeup at the old Atlantic Records, and Rhino seems to have picked them up for US distribution.

Order HOME from Amazon.com here.

Also out now in the rest of the world and not in the US is a two-disc DVD called ALL THE WAY HOME / LIVE IN GENEVA. Disc One features a documentary about The Corrs, how they came to be a band, and a little history on each album and tour they've undertaken in the last decade and a half, taking us up to present-day. Some of this material was lifted from an old European documentary aired around the time of TALK ON CORNERS and is updated to include the recent stuff. This disc is paired with a full live concert recorded in Geneva, Switzerland at the conclusion of their 2004 BORROWED HEAVEN tour. For this concert, Caroline, who miseed the US portion of the tour, rejoined the group for this one show only, preserved forever on this DVD.

This two-disc DVD is not scheduled for release in the US, and is available in Canada in the North American NTSC format. As a result, it's a little pricey, but since it's two discs, I feel it's worth it.

You can order the 2-disc import DVD from Amazon US here.

I see a few reviews of people who accidentally got Region 2 PAL discs when ordering the above set. Make sure, if you do order it, that you check it out promptly to make sure you got the correct version. The one I got is indeed Region 1, and NTSC.

A single-disc DVD of just the concert only WILL be released in the US in March in time for St. Patrick's day at a more reasonable price, if you're only interested in the concert.

Amazon has the single-disc DVD up for pre-order here.

Latest news on the group is that now Sharon is pregnant, due this spring, and Jim and his significant other are also expecting. There are rumors of a CBS THIS MORNING appearance on Saturday, March 11th.
