This year's Burt Bacharach compilation got me to wondering. When it was released, there were comments here about the missing piano intro on "This Guy's In Love With you." Later we found out that it was an error and that at some point in the future it would be corrected. Do we think that A&M/Universal will quietly slip this one through so that it appears the same?
I think back to the old CLASSICS VOLUME 1, where the track number indexing was screwed up, later to be replaced in identical packaging/catalog numbering.
Suppose that all of the complaints here about the dropouts in "Tijuana Taxi" on DEFINITIVE HITS prompted a similar result. Could that explain why some people (read the reviews on amazon.com) don't hear the dropouts, because they were replaced on a second wave of these discs? Has anyone purchased this disc recently? Has it been fixed?
