Yuka has sent the news that Universal Japan is releasing a 2-disc set this December to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Carpenters 22 HITS packagae - a hugely successful title overseas.
The new 2-disc set will include a copy of that 22 HITS disc, plus a new version of the Karaoke disc that's been out of print for quite awhile. As a bonus, the new Karaoke disc will also include "Sing", a Karaoke track that Richard recently released on a Japanese single, but wasn't on the earlier Karaoke disc.
For those that haven't heard it, the Karaoke disc is a set of Carpenters backing tracks - basically everything BUT Karen's lead vocals. It's a fascinating listen, as it gives insight into the record production process.
