Numero 5,

Could not agree with with you more on the ending of "Favorite Things"
But make no bones about it, John Barry, not M. Norrman is the true (uncredited) author of The James Bond Theme

Well, I always thought so, too. And yet, after hearing legal testimony for and from both Messrs. Barry and Norman, a British jury disagreed with us both, awarding Monty Norman about $45,000.00 in damages in the process. If you're interested in this story, follow the link—

—in which, among other fascinations, you'll learn (well, I learned) that chord vamps, even one as distinctive as that for "The James Bond Theme," lie in the public domain; and that the one Mr. Alpert plucked for his arrangement of "My Favorite Things" is #49.
