Please help me out with this song.

This song is haunting me.
I heard it on the radio last week and it all came back to me. Before that, it was at least ten years since last time.
I can only give you a few lines;
"...different places.... all the people in the streets...". Then some kind of chorus: ".. RAIN'S GONNA FALL ON YOU.. dumdudududududum..". It's a male artist, and should be from the 80's, maybe early 90's. Some kind of rock power ballad.
Please help me if you can.

It's readily available on "greatest hits"-type CDs by the band or on the album Nervous Night. On Columbia ... nothing to do with A&M ... but we are here to serve ...
