PBS ran a pilot episode for a possible series,"Second Hand Stories", the flipside of "Antique Roadshow". Two guys driving a used ambulance to visit thrift shops, estate sales and garage sales to report what they found, how much it cost and,in some cases, the story behind the stuff. One example is the large amount of answer machines and the tapes left in them with bizarre messages. I briefly went by this show the other night while surfing around the baseball LCS,but I wish I had stayed with it(it is supposed to be repeated on our local PBS station next week). One story is about a 70 year old guy sadly getting rid of his 700 piece LP collection and a reference is made about a thrift shop not being able to truly call themselves a thrift shop unless they have at least one copy of-yeah,you know which one-WHIPPED CREAM & OTHER DELIGHTS(Christopher Cross is supposed to get a ribbing, too). Also, the soundtrack is made up completely of music acquired on their trip. It really looks like fun. Mac
