Has anyone had the chance to enjoy the Cannonball Adderley LP on which he was backed by Sergio Mendes, Dom Um Romeo and others? I think it's a great listen -- so relaxing, but not complacent at all. I've heard it came about when Sergio and some of his guys were touring the US for the first time and went to see Cannonball play in NYC. They met him and Cannonball was intrigued by the whole new bossa nova "thing" and they all went into the studio a day or so later and made the album.

This is another one that's been rereleased under about a zillion different titles. There's an interesting story about Riverside (the original label) and Cannonball--IIRC, when Riverside was about to go under, Cannonball was able to buy the masters and then re-sold them to Capitol. I'd recommend getting the CD (reproducing the Riverside cover), as it has some nice alternate takes on it.

My father used to play his reel-to-reel of "Clouds" over and again for me...always liked that collaboration.
