This week's 12" single of the week is by a Welsh/Canadian husband and wife duo, The Raes. Robbie and wife Cherrill Rae first had success with a dance remake of the Doris Day hit "Que Sera Sera". With their second A&M album in 1979, Dancin' Up A Storm, they found success with a 12-inch disco remix of "A Little Lovin' (Keeps The Doctor Away)". (The 45RPM single was released on A&M single 466.)
The remix peaked at #5 on the Billboard club play chart, but stalled at #61 on the pop chart. Due to a typographical error by Billboard, the single was shown to be sliding down the charts, causing A&M to pull all promotion of the single and dooming it as a hit. Their third album would produce only minor success, and it was not even optioned for U.S. release.
I remember WLBS giving this 12" single heavy airplay back when it was released.
