Doesn't anyone out there know what kind of trombone Bob Edmonson is playing on TIJUANA TAXI and why it sounds different than any other TJB recording?

On the recording it may not be Bob Edmondson, as Herb utilized various studio musicians (yes, sometimes TJB members as well) during recording sessions (who plays sax on "Love Potion #9"?) to achieve the desired sound. You're right, though -- it does sound different and has a reedy quality to it. Were it recorded in the electronic age one would think it was a synthesized hybrid sound of a t-bone and baritone sax. Could it be it's a baritone horn and not even a trombone?

No, it's a trombone. I think the reason it may sound a little different is the way he was mic'ed. But I have no idea what model of horn he played. I've never seen an endorsement by Edmondson whatsoever, although from what I've seen it may be a King.
