It looks like an alternate picture from the "Rides Again" photo shoot. But from what I can tell, the people in it look very much...

Julius Wechter & The Baja Marimbas' New Deal CD was issued by Bay Cities in 1990 and has long been out of print. This is a really great CD that should not only appeal to Julius Wechter fans, but anyone who likes jazz!
I have been in touch with Bruce Kimmel, producer of the CD and there might...
I have been in touch with former A&M photographer Jim McCrary, who e-mailed some vintage Julius Wechter & Baja Marimba Band photos. I asked him if I could share some of them at A&M Corner and he agreed. Here is his web site http://www.jimmccrary.com/ - I believe that it is possible to purchase...
Attention anyone looking to complete your Julius Wechter record collection - Linear Sketches can be found in two listings and The Music of Julius Wechter can also be found, but at the outrageous price of $200!
I caught the BMB last week on the American Life TV network's showing of "The Jackie Gleason Show" entitled "The Mexican Hat Trick" as part of a Mexican town square production number with the June Taylor Dancers. They performed a medley of 2 tunes, one of which I think was "Pedro's Porch" (but I...
I've been away from here a while (women can be a problem! LOL), but I came across 2 amazing YouTube videos, the first is the Baja Marimba Band in Maxwell House commercials, unreal!

The second is a 1967 A&M All Stars video, I hope I'm not repeating...
I came very late to the Baja Marimba Band "party". For years, I mistakenly pigeon-holed them as a TjB knock-off, bargain-basement variety. Needless to say, it's now one of my greatest regrets that I never paid them any attention back then.
As a result, I've only really been listening to BMB...
I was just wondering about the Baja Marimba Band's Back lp on Bell Records. Why was it called Baja Marimba Band's Back when their last record was in 1971. Why a so called "reunion" after two years! Maybe the original band didn't record on As Time Goes By in 1971 and was back to record this 1973...

At 71, Cissy Wechter has found herself with a most unlikely title.
Call her a "sexpert" for...
I'm a big fan of the BMB, and this is the first time I've ever seen a video of them. They are performing Brasilia, but I'm not sure what the show is.

While searching on ebay, I found this 45, which should be interesting to Julius Wechter fans. Here's the link.

Well it's been over 5 years since Herb played "Spanish Flea" at the Wechter Tribute and I just got a Japanese CD of "Fresh Air" today.
My question, was a DVD or CD of the Tribute show ever made available in legit or bootleg form?
It seems there is a 7 inch EP BMB album, that has a remake cover of the Baja Marimba Band Rides Again album. I found a picture of it on an A&M site, but it was too small to make out. Does anyone have anymore information about this ep, or a large photo?
Saw this on ebay, and was surprised to find no bids on it.

I would like to know who publishes Wechter's music method book "Play Vibes". I can't find it in stores and want to contact the publisher. Thank you for your help.
Hi All!
I've been in touch with Cissy Wechter. She and her family are very pleased with the release of Julius' Fresh Air on CD for the first time ever.
She also tells me of the release of her new book which will be out in November. I'll post the link so that you can check it out...

I was going through my Baja Marimba Band cds and just for kicks put in my needle-drop of "Watch Out!". Much to my surprise, the CDDB function on Windows Media Player popped up with a window listing the title to select: lo and behold, one of the choices was "Watch Out!" Now, I know that it was...
