Has anyone on here ever heard of UMixIt? It's a special software and company that lets fans remix their favorite artist's songs. The songs come on a CD or DVD and feature 8 discrete instrument/vocal tracks. They also include expanded 16 track versions, that work with the purchase of an upgrade. Aerosmith, Billy Joel and other artists have had releases with this format and company, both selling extremely well. I own both of these releases and it's really amazing being able to mix your own versions of songs. It would be great to have Carpenters Material in this form, basically bringing the original multi tracks to the fans. The company's official website is www.umixit.com What do you all think of this idea?

This would be fantastic for Carpenters recordings. Personally, I'd love to pare down some of the dated sounding songs to just Karen, bass line, and Earl Dumler. Can you imagine the possibilities of mixing the sparse track with today's amazing synthesized and sampled orchestras or more modern drum sequences? If anything, just to hear our favorite recordings in tons of new forms. Wow. Shoot, R.C. will never go for something that lets fans tamper with his work. Thanks for letting us know about this!
