I'm currently putting together a 2nd CD of Herb's appearances on other artist's records and thought I'd do a little polling:

Name your Top Ten Favorite Guest Appearances of Herb's.

(Keep in mind that those who name more than 10 will be locked in a steam room with the Village People! :wtf: )

My list would include (in no particular order):

Gato Barbieri - Para Los Todos (from The Shadow Of The Cat)

UB40 - Rat In Mi Kitchen (from Rat In The Kitchen)

Lani Hall - Es Facil Amar (from Es Facil Amar)

Janet Jackson - Someday Is Tonight (from Rhythm Nation 1814)

Michel Colombier - All In All (from Wings)

Airto - Amanjour (from Touching You, Touching Me)

Double - Devil's Ball (from 3)

Brian Culbertson - Just Another Day (from Nice & Slow)

Paulinho da Costa - Now Way Out (from Breakdown)

I can't come up with 10, but here are mine:

!. Lucille Starr--JOLIE JAQUELINE

2. Lani Hall--COME WHAT MAY

3. Peter Allen--THE MORE I SEE YOU

4. UB 40--RAT IN MI KITCHEN

5. Gato Barbieri--NOSTALGIA[from RUBY, RUBY]

and like your list, they're in no particular order...

Good topic! -- and tough to limit to 10.

With so many really good appearances on Lani's albums over the years, it's hard to keep it to less-than-a-couple to allow choices from other artists. So, I'll go with (in no particular order):

Tres Curumins - Lani Hall (from BRASIL NATIVO)
Es Facil Amar - Lani Hall (from ES FACIL AMAR)
Rat In Mi Kitchen - UB40 (from RAT IN THE KITCHEN)
Devil's Ball - Double (from Dou3le)
Noche De Copas - Maria Conchita Alonso (from MARIA CONCHITA)
The Drifter - Pisano & Ruff (from PISANO & RUFF)
When You Wish Upon A Star - Ringo Starr (from STAY AWAKE)
Rendezvous - Jim Brickman (from DESTINY)
All in All - Michel Colombier (from WINGS)
Amanjour - Airto (from TOUCHING YOU, TOUCHING ME)

"Love Will Never Do Without You" from Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation I prefer over "Someday is Tonight".

Wish he'd had a bigger role in the song "Ratamacue" on Harvey Mason's same-named album. Herb's just on the last 30 seconds or so, during the fade-out.

I forgot one, how about Kris Kristoffersen and Rita Coolidge:A SONG I'D LIKE TO SING?

Dan, who would like to thank the Captain for all the trips I'm gonna have to take to the record store to find all these gems I didn't know about...and can't find on Limewire...

I'd forgotten all about that one. Little wonder...

That reminds me. I need to send you some info on the newer guest appearances. I'm taking a few days off, so I'll e-mail 'em to you in the next couple of days.

Sounds good. I won't have time for any major projects for the next couple of months (probably not until May), so some minor tweaks wouldn't hurt.
