Is there a list of tracks in which Mr Alpert performs but which are not on one of his albums? I am listening to "Aldous" from YouTube and that's what got me thinking about it. In addition to "Aldous", there are, off the top of my head, the "Latin album" release of BYOH two tracks ("Noche de Amor" and one other), "Chasing Shadows", The holiday tune with Jeff Lorber on the Jazz to the World album. Are there others?I know, of course, that he shows up on a few albums as a guest artist as well (Brickman, Ry Cooder, Lani Hall)

Besides the songs you listed, there are a few singles which never appeared on albums, although some of those turned up on the now-out-of-print Lost Treasures collection. The list of his guest appearances would number in the dozens, or maybe even hundreds, but I don't know of an actual list. Maybe there's some database that the info could be extracted from.

  4. One of my favorite Herb Alpert guest appearances (which I didn't see in the link) was on "Estate" by Rita Coolidge.

Interesting stuff. Thank you. It's almost like there needs to be an "IMuDB" website...
