This is a little off-topic, but there is an indirect C's link.

You may have heard that comedian Don Knotts died on Friday. Apparently, Sherwin Bash was Knotts' manager.

Don Knotts was also the host that The Carpenters replaced in summer 1971 for TV special "Make Your Own Kind Of Music"..., so yes, there's a link between Don Knotts and The Carpenters.
