Wall of Voodoo, Wall of Sound?, help Mr. Bill!

With all this talk mentioning the Phil Spector Wall of Sound, I wonder if the IRS group Wall of Voodoo coined their name partly from that phrase?

I highly doubt Stan Ridgway would have had Spector as an influence.

Actually that IS where they got their name.

They started of doing soundtracks for low budget films and PSAs. (They had a different corporate name then like ACME Sound or something equally amusing). While they were toying with the idea of becoming a band, one member (I believe it was the late Marc Moreland) said, "Phil Spector had the 'Wall Of Sound' -- ours sounds like a 'Wall Of Voodoo'" and the name stuck.
