Not sure if this one has been posted yet, but it's pretty neat. It's from 1967, and starts off with Herb playing a few lines of "Alfie," then talking to Burt Bacharach about his hits. Burt sings a few songs while Herb sits nearby and listens. Then Brasil 66 come out and sing "Look of Love," followed by Liza Minelli, Wes Montgomery, and Baja Marimba Band. It closes with Herb "playing" "Casino Royale." The clip is here:

Yes, this has been around for a while. It's another Hollywood Palace show that featured all A&M acts: TJB, BMB, B '66, Liza, Wes Montgomery, Burt and Boyce & Hart.

What I always liked about this clip is that it is the only actual "live" recording of the entire show. Just Burt and Herb. It always makes me think of what a great project the two of them could do together. I would love to see a project like that, with many tracks built around just piano, vocals and horn.

Amazon is listing a DVD of the final episode of THE HOLLYWOOD PALACE with at least a clip of Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass, and with Bing Crosby as host. I have vague recollections of watching that show on February 7, 1970.

I saw that show when I was a little kid and I remember being frustrated with just the small sound clips. Even at 14 years old I could tell that they were playing to tracks. Looking at it now it was a commercial for the A&M record store. Still fun to watch. later.......J
