Any news on the rumored "Box set"?

Just wondering if anyone has further information on the rumored "Box set" from the TJB? I had heard that Herb was "revisiting" his old recordings, but that was awhile ago.

Just currious when I can put my scratchy albums away,

No word yet. Last we heard, someone in the mastering biz on another Forum mentioned the alleged goings-on as "compression city", meaning that whatever is being done is using a lot of modern-day compression to master whatever it is they're mastering.

Stay tuned. When we know something, you'll know something.

Meanwhile, you might want to poke around and try to upgrade some of those "scratchy" records. They might, after all, offer the best sound we can hope for.

Well, it's not up to Universal. Herb owns the rights to the masters of his albums, not Universal. It will be interesting to see how this will be released and under what label. I wouldn't be surprised if it took at least another year before it does get released.
