A veteran saxophone player who was a member of the Doobie Brothers during their Michael McDonald years, and, most recently, Steely Dan, passed away from a heart attack yesterday en route to Los Angeles. He was 52 years old.
I was fortunate enough to see him this past summer on Steely Dan's tour for Everything Must Go.. He was a quiet, unassuming person who was a favorite among fans and fellow session musicians.
