I chose this week's 12-incher largely due to it being one of my favorite remixes of an EW&F track. "System of Survival" is completely transformed in its remix, as you can hear in the first video. The single version of this song, a shortened version of what appears on the album, appears in the official video, linked here also. This was an era when remixers would usually take a single in different directions from what was originally intended. In my experience, these remixes usually were a failure...but this one is quite good. Side two of this 12-incher is typical filler, although B1 riffs on the new remix a bit.
I may do an Earth, Wind & Fire AOTW series if there is enough interest.
