As longtime fans or new converts to Brenda Russell's artistry, many of you have inquired over the years about the availability of Brenda's out-of-print albums.
We're happy to announce that as of November 9, 2010, you'll be able to buy digital versions of two of those albums: Kiss Me with the Wind (1991) and Soul Talkin' (1993). The albums will be available on itunes, amazon mp3, and many other digital music stores worldwide.
In early 2011, the last of Brenda's unavailable out-of-print albums, "Love Life" (1981), will also be available digitally. Once we have an exact date for that release, we'll let you know. For those of you looking for "Love Life" on CD, Universal Japan is re-releasing the album in that configuration on December 22, 2010. This will be the first time "Love Life" will be available on CD.
Will any of these albums be made available on CD beyond the Japanese release, which will be an import for most of you? The short answer is maybe. Brenda herself may be licensing these albums from the labels that own the masters (Universal and EMI) next year. Those plans are tentative at the moment, but we'll definitely let you know if/when they are confirmed.
