I recently perchased an album called Allen's Allstars. It had vibist Terry Gibbs, pianist Steve Allen, Al Viola, Red Mitchell and a drummer who's name on the cover was spelt, Frank DiVito. What attracted me to the album was, I thought Frank Divito said Frank DeVito, the drummer for The Baja Marimba Band. As I stould there looking at it thinking it was just a misprint. Then I saw it said the same thing on the back. The setting seemed right..........Hollywood White/Westcoast Jazz album. Maybee he spelt his name like that? If anyone knows about this album or the drummer Frank DiVito as opposed to Frank DeVito, write back here........

I don't have the record but I've seen it. Aren't photos of the band on the record? Gus Bivona is on it also. Frank also recorded with Gibbs and Allen on a Dot record called Rhythm and Blues, so maybe they had a long association.
